Happy New Years!
My new year starts the day the kids finish the year's lessons. I think we'll have waffles and celebrate in the morning! Happy New Year! Some years we have been done as early as April. Last year we didn't finish until July. Usually though, sometime mid to the end of May begins our break.
I eagerly await this from about January on. :) I'll be honest and say that I loved homeschooling much more in the years before anyone was in 5th grade. But, as the years add on, so do the hrs it takes to finish school each day.
AWANA has ended for the year. Monday School is over... and I have time.
I have a tub of about 15 children's ministry books to read this summer. I can't wait to share.
Today I cleaned the pantry, cleaned the laundry room, balanced the checkbook, paid the bills, cleaned out my room, took a walk, spruced up my office and still had time to make a Mexican chicken/corn chowder for supper. YUMMMMM
Looking forward to the sun, but this rain is great for accomplishing things because there's nothing to do but stay in the house and get caught up on chores long forgotten.
I have huge goals for this summer:
clean out the attic
caulk and paint Annie's room
caulk and paint Emma's ceiling
caulk and paint Mel's ceiling
mud, sand and paint the bathroom ceiling
repaint the whole bathroom
trim the living room ceiling and paint
trim the kitchen ceiling and paint
We'll see how far we get, but I don't have time for any projects during homeschool season, so I'm looking forward to getting a few things done. Cheers, another year is done!
