The gods must be crazy...Anyone remember that movie, but me. I told my sister Heather tonight that I think I'm starring in my own personal version of that movie. Aren't sisters the best. So, my sister Heather an I live about 10 minutes apart. We are both so busy though that we mostly talk on the phone. We laugh at and pray for each other. Sometimes we still get a little peeved at each other kinda like when we were kids. We are 2 years apart and while we have alot of similarities from our upbringing we are like night and day. We actually compliment each other pretty well. I think if you put us into one person we'd be a fairly well-rounded adult. Instead you have two people who are passionate, gifted and broken in so many ways. :)
Okay, back to my version of the gods must be crazy or maybe it's a new show called Punked by your Creator. For weeks now everything I do has fallen apart or exploded. I'm starting to think that is a clear sign that I shouldn't do anything. I was just wondering I would be allowed to watch movies while I do nothing.
Today's latest installment, After a very long day of cleaning the homeschool school and looking for host families. I had to play piano for church tonight, so this afteroon I practiced, picked songs, took Emma to the babysitter, and got there. Only to have someone else there who was supposed to lead songs. That is just the latest in a line of these punk'd moments that has been going on for weeks. I'll close with my personal favorite in this movie I've been starring in.
Over Christmas the church did a big Christmas dinner. They decided that since I know how to cook for large groups of people they would ask me to make gravy for 300 people. So, the day before I bought boxes and boxes of stock. I was going to make the gravy the night before, but realized that if I made that much gravy I'd have no way to refrigerate it for the next day. So, I got out all the ingredients and set my alarm for early to get up at 6am to make GRAVY. Somehow, I had messed something up and awoke at 9. Church starts at 10am. It was the Sunday before Christmas, so we had to get 3 kids up and dressed for Christmas programs, gravy for 300 made and of course I was hosting a table, so I had to be at least dressed. I'm still not sure how, but I'm assuming it involved alot of yelling because my husband was mad. We made it right at 10am on the dot. The dinner was crazy, I didn't even get to sit down, there were so many people and no seats left. When the dust had settled and we were cleaning up guess what I found an entire roaster about 4 gallons of home made beef gravy. Yep, I don't think even 10 people used the gravy.
Like I said, "He who sits in the heavens laughs."
