I know, I know, that last blog was a bit tangy, but that's how life is, sometimes you feel like a nut sometimes you don't.
Several wks ago we got some little banty chicks. They've been growing in our living room enjoying the warmth of the house. Each week a little larger box and finally just too stinky to put it off any longer.... the girls and I moved them today.
We had a cage of sorts outdoors which the husband built several years ago when we raised a batch of pheasants... just for fun.
So, like the country bumpkin girls we are, we recycled our way to an intermediate size chicken pen. You'll love this...
1. The box in the back of the pen for them to huddle in and stay warm, was a bedside table that was on the burn pile. I pulled out the drawer and thought, hey this would be perfect.
2. The plastic covering over the top, to keep out the rain while they are small is the shower curtain I just threw out of the bathroom because it was just too soap scummy.
3. The roosting sticks, are just that sticks that came down in that last storm.
I can't wait to build the chick shack of my dreams, but for now... the pictures of my country girl ways.
And so without further ado, the PHOTOS...
