The Club

I joined your club this year...
So many of you, wishing for one last conversation, one more day with Mom.
I guess I never realized you existed, I'm sorry I was oblivious to your pain.
Everywhere I went this year I saw Mother's Day ideas that would have made her smile.  I joined you and wished that I could thank her just one more time.  I kept thinking about some of the years when I was so busy that I hurriedly gave her a quick gift and got on with life.
Unfortunately, although your club is exclusive it doesn't allow members to unsubscribe so I'll post a tribute here to my favorite lady, my mother.
Momma with Emma who loved to sit in Grandma's bed.

Karin Darwood
My mom met God when she was already an adult.  She was a true lover of God's Word and dedicated the rest of her life to Bible study and learning to hear God's voice.  She left behind stacks of journals of her quiet times with Jesus.
She was a wife who loved my dad always.
She was my momma.
A lady who always put her children first and found pleasure in it.  She instilled in us the thirst for knowledge and the drive to live life with purpose.  She taught us to finish what you start and to stand for what you believe.  She loved us.

  1. Heidi , another member of the club here. Yesterday was so very hard for me I miss her so much. Mothers day was always the day we took to celebrate with her. Birthday and mothers day all in one. As many of us as could would go up and see her and take a gift of flowers or something for her yard. Last year my brother brought a wheel barrow planter that had to be assembled. somehow the directions got misplaced. Cant be that hard can it?An hour later and the thing nearly put together amidst much laughter and us girls supervising , Mom stepped out on the porch with a paper in her hand and asked "Is this what you're looking for?"It turned out the boys had put it together wrong. What a wonderful memory. The house is sold now , to a lovely couple who will treasure it and Mom's garden as she did. That's a blessing I'm sure she;s happy with. I know what you mean by seeing things she would love , I've been doing it too and this year it hurts my heart as I never expected it to. Perhaps next year will be better. Our Mom's were awesome people and you and I have the assurance of knowing that they are with God and we have only to run our own race to be with them. But the world is a lonelier place without them. I am blessed to have you here to understand. I love you my friend , and do you suppose our Mom's have met and and watching us together? I would hope so. I'll miss seeing you Wednesday night. I know Jesus is walking beside us drying our tears.May He bless your days as the Summer plays out. your sister in Christ , Judy
